Luke had a blast last weekend! Summer weekends are great in that sometimes we have nothing going on and all of a sudden it turns into a weekend packed full of fun. Friday night Luke and Matt had their buddies Henry and Paul come over for dinner and playtime while the mommies went to see Harry Potter. I think it was a great night for everyone. Luke and Henry play very well together. The pictures below are of their first epic light saber battle. (You can tell the dads were in charge, right?)First Luke gets in a blow to the head..

Saturday was a very beautiful day, with none of the heat and humidity typical of July in Kansas. Luke, Aunt Becca, and I headed for the zoo. So did the rest of Kansas City. But, we had a wonderful day exploring and showing Becca all around since it was her first visit. Luke loved riding the train for the first time and getting up close to see the kangaroos.
We ran into our friends the Paulsons there. Luke posed for a few shots with his little friend Elizabeth.
Luke found this little spot in Africa and I think could have spent a long time here. He had his animal crackers and a view of the rhinos, giraffes, and zebras...many of his favorites. But, we were nearing nap time and needed to start heading out. He fell asleep in his stroller shortly after this was taken.
Sunday was spent at the pool and playing outside. Luke and Dixie were both worn out from another fun weekend!
