Visit to Tanganyika

The kids and I took a quick trip to Wichita last week because Luke didn't have school and Matt played in a multi-day golf tournament. As always, we had a great trip, but our highlight this time was a trip to Tanganyika Wildlife Park outside of Wichita. Ok, so this first one was just taken at my parent's house, but it was cute enough that I had to share.Tanganyika was great because you get very close to many of the animals and even get to feed several of them. Despite the very hot and windy morning, Luke and Grace both loved it. Luke fed a giraffe.

It was amazing to watch the giraffes this close.

We spent lots of time petting and feeding the bunnies.

And the tortoises...

Luke even got to feed a lemur. One craisin. Yep, one.

Then we were starting to take a picture of the kids together when...

this happened. Yes, that is a lemur climbing on my baby. My mom was holding Gracie and I was taking the pictures. We were both freaking out but it was one of those things that happened so fast. The lemur was gentle with her, but certainly checking her out. Maybe it was hoping she had one craisin too.

When I loaded these pics from my camera to my computer I could not stop laughing at the expressions on the kids' faces. Oh how I wish Grace could tell us what she was thinking! That made for a wild end to our morning, but we had a great time and will surely be back there again.
