Our Luke Charles turned FIVE on October 17. All of a sudden this fall he seems so big. He's grown a bunch and just somehow seems older. He remains very loving and affectionate, yet has such total BOY in him as well - always moving, running, jumping, and climbing.
Luke's birthday day wasn't all that eventful - his favorite cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then a fun day at preschool. Luke had been asking for a pet fish for quite some time, so we surprised him with one the evening of his birthday. He is a red and blue Bettafish and Luke promptly named him "Jayhawk". (Proud parent moment.) He is doing a good job taking care of him so far. He even praises him as he eats each day, telling him, "Good job, Jayhawk!" as he eats each tiny nugget. :)
That night as I cuddled with Luke after reading his books he told me, "I can't grow smaller, Mommy. Those are the rules about life." Oh my. Happy birthday to you, our sweet, silly, smart, daredevil of a boy! We love you to pieces Luke!
