Welcome!
We hope this gives you a little peek into our family
life as we watch Luke and Grace learn and grow. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
T-Ball Time
We entered the world of Johnson County t-ball this summer. Luke played on a team with a bunch of boys we know and a few we didn't previously. Despite several rain outs, we had fun with the other families. I think Luke liked it fine, but wasn't super into it. Of course, in my opinion, it's hard to get to into it when every kid hits the ball each inning. It doesn't matter how hard you hit or how the other team fields it, but you go to first. When your teammate hits next, you go to second, and so on. You play three innings with each kid on each team batting once per inning. As you can imagine, there is no winner.
We had to try to keep Grace and Lucy out of the dugout most games.
Many games Luke was in the outfield discussing who know what with his buddy John.
The "Crushers" high-five line after a big victory. (We can call every game a big victory if there is no score, right?)
Big hitter

While this picture is not directly related to t-ball, it helps me to tell a cute story. Luke and Davis and Molly and Charlotte (picture below with Molly's sister Sarah too) have been best buddies for two years now. They've all loved being in preschool together. This darling picture was taken at a playdate at Molly's house in May. Well, our very last t-ball game of the year we played against Charlotte and Molly's team. Molly was out of town, but after the game Charlotte came all the way from her dugout to ours to say hi to Luke. He played it ultra-cool in front of the whole team - said hi, but not really much more. Charlotte finally kinda walked away. She came back over with her mom and they talked to all of us for a bit and Luke paid a little bit more attention to her. Other moms were cracking up because their sons either don't like girls at all or just don't have much to do with them. The crowd disappated a little more and then Luke stood by a tree with Charlotte and talked a long time. It is really sweet to watch them together because they do all really enjoy being friends. I hope he continues to treat girls with such kindness. We will miss watching these four together next year as they go to different elementary schools!
