Time with the Girls (and little boys) in Minnesota

Last week Luke and I had our first long car trip adventure with just the two of us. We drove up to Minneapolis to see Meghan and then meeting us there were Jessica and her son, Charlie, who flew in from LA. Meg and Jess are two of my best friends, back from our Kappa days at KU. Charlie is just six months older than Luke so we were hopeful they would be good buddies this trip. They quickly bonded over shared loves - fountains, pianos, stairs, being outside, Elmo phones, Thomas trucks, books, bathtubs, bath toys, parks, bats, balls, etc. Luckily that left the girls plenty of time to catch up on all of our shared loves too!

Meghan was an incredible hostess for us! She (and her great husband John) had everything we could have ever desired for our little guys- toys, snacks, treats, cups, dishes, even new shoes! :-) She had also scoped out the fun things in Minneapolis to keep our active little ones entertained. They both loved this fountain at an outdoor shopping center.

One morning we headed to Lake Calhoun to walk around the lake and play at this awesome playground. I am pretty sure they would have stayed there all day if we could have!

Luke loved playing John's piano. It solidified his obsession with them. (When we got home this week he picked up a three hole punch in our office and said "piano" and then got really mad when it didn't do anything.)

We loved our few days in Minneapolis and are very thankful to Meg and John for taking such good care of all of us. The trip was very fun, but mostly I was so happy to have some good, quality time with two of my favorite girls in the world! Love you, Meg, Jess, and Charlie, too!
