Ten Months

How has it been ten months? It seems like Grace is just flying towards her first birthday and I can hardly believe it. She is now pulling up everywhere, so she is into everything. Here she is playing with a nice safe drawer of kid stuff. She is saying baba for her bottle and dada for Daddy, but that's it at this point. (It is killer to wait for that first mama!) I can't wait to hear what she will call Luke. He continues to be her favorite thing. Somedays it truly makes my heart hurt to watch them together. They are so cute and love each other so much. Here is a picture of one of the many daily wrestling matches. Grace just lets Luke pull her down and roll around with her.

He also loves to "hold" her right now which usually lasts about 2 seconds before she crawls away. Luke plays the "How big is Gracie? So big!" game with her all of the time and she cracks up. She is starting to raise her arms for the "so big" part too.

We are wondering if Gracie is going to be our little dangerous child. With Luke we never used any baby gates, cabinet locks (unless you count the rubber band we put on the under the sink cabinet), or anything other than outlet covers. However, Grace loves to escape to the stairs and is already picking at the outlet covers. When she starts heading for the stairs Luke calls out, "Baby emergency!" It's funny and helpful.

Her favorite toys are musical instruments, stuff that makes noise, shoes, and anything of Luke's. She especially loves to get his Jack Sparrow sword anytime he's not playing with it. More than almost anything, she loves for you to help her walk. She bounces around/dances now when music comes on. Grace loves to be out and about running errands, playing at the Y, and seeing other kids. It is super-cute when she gets shy sometimes and will lay down on the floor or tilt her body to the side to try to hide her face. She usually does it with a great big smile on her face. Grace knows her first body part too and it's the same one Luke knew - her tongue. Ask her, "Grace, where's your tongue?" and she will show you right away. She is also very interested in other people's tongues. She continues to be a great eater and sleeper.

Here she is with Dixie watching the world go by on Somerset. They are good buddies by now and Grace likes crawling over to pet Dixie and play with the tag on her collar.

Happy 10 months little one!
